My Work
I created a Dutch-inspired still life composition, using real objects and artistically arranging them. I used food and other interesting items that are personal to me. For the backdrop, I used black curtains and a box to elevate some of the items.

Still lifes from the Dutch Golden Age and Post-Impressionism are both similar because they show everyday objects. However, they look very different from each other because of their style of art. Dutch still lifes are detailed, balanced, and realistic, often with dark backgrounds and bright lighting to make objects stand out. The objects in these paintings are carefully composed and presented with accuracy. On the other hand, Post-Impressionist works use bold colors and show things in a less realistic way, sometimes with unusual shapes and angles. These paintings focus more on the artist’s emotions or feelings, instead of making them look exactly real.
