My Work
These photographs were taken by me using a DSLR Nikon camera. To adjust their colours, I used FastStone Image Viewer and Affinity Photo 2.

Using hue and saturation to enhance the photo

Using a yellow analogous colour theme (Yellow-green, Yellow, Yellow-orange)

Using monochromatic colour and value scale of colour

Using saturation to create a focal point

Using complimentary colours (yellow and purple)

Using predominantly the colour green to create the feeling of growth and abundance
Stop and Think
After watching the video on colour psychology, consider your own colour associations. For each of the primary and secondary colours (six total), show one thing you associate with each colour. You may copy your images from the internet for this. Here is an example for the colour red associating it with heat (be sure to site where you found your image):

The following photographs were taken by me in 2024 and 2025.

Artist Connection
Create your own colour wheel. You can use any art medium or found object that you would like. Be creative in what you use, not limiting yourself to traditional art-making practices.
Your colour must show all 12 hues found in the colour wheel presented in this lesson (three primary, three secondary, and six tertiary).

This was made with my collection of natural curiosities, such as gemstones, flowers, leaves, and shells. The background is a sheet of black cardstock.
